SMC Participates SingCham China’s National Day Dinner Celebrating Singapore’s 61st Birthday
8 August 2026, Beijing — The SMC was proud to support the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (SingCham) as a sponsor of its National Day Dinner, held at the Kerry Hotel Beijing in celebration of Singapore’s 61st year of independence.
Under the theme “Forging Ahead Together, Celebrating Singapore,” the dinner brought together more than 600 distinguished guests from the Singapore and Chinese governments, business communities, chambers and associations, as well as partner organisations. The occasion reflected the enduring friendship between Singapore and China and the shared commitment to strengthening connections across borders, sectors and generations.
The Guest of Honour, Mr Peter Tan Hai Chuan, Singapore’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, was joined by Ms Ele Ng, Regional Director of Singapore Global Network, Mr Wang Ziyuan, President of SingCham China, and representatives from the wider Singapore–China community.
Beginning with the National Anthem and National Pledge, the evening brought together technology, culture and community through a robot band, dance performances and a heartfelt hulusi ensemble. It concluded with “Count on Me, Singapore,” uniting guests in a shared spirit of solidarity and hope for the future.
